The offices in this building housing the Information Technology Services department, the digital hub of the school, its IT infrastructure, servers, and hardware housed in the Corby Center were required to be relocated. The School determined that due to critical time constraints, sensitivity of the building use, construction, cost and relocation logistics that it would contract for the building construction utilizing a Design-Build form of Project Delivery.
The work consisted of the design and construction of an addition to the Heating Plant Building for the IT Building Addition. Pre-Construction Services, including Design, Estimating, Scheduling, Approvals, Constructability Reviews and Value Engineering, in addition to Construction Phase services and 3D modeling were provided by V. J. Scozzari & Sons, Inc.  The 1,761 square foot addition was specifically designed to be the new digital hub for the school community. The hub is monitored by four staff members with the majority of the building being dedicated to the hub, the supporting systems, and the redundant systems; including two R-407C Emerson – Liebert Air Cooled Condenser Units mated with two Computer Room Air Conditioning Units. In addition to the AC power uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), the facility also has a backup electrical power source consisting of a 175 kW/219 KVA 208/120v, 3 phase Diesel fueled stand-by generator.
