This is the fourth community that Project Freedom has partnered with V. J. Scozzari & Sons, Inc. Similar to Freedom Village at Hopewell, Freedom Village Toms River will be one of the largest communities that Project Freedom has developed of its type and will utilize an award winning community creating 72 apartments. The 10 acre site includes all site improvements and appurtenances required to support the community. All units will be barrier-free, and each of six (6) buildings will house 12 apartments. All the buildings will have an elevator, so that the second floors can also be accessed by someone who uses a wheelchair. The buildings will provide a mix or one, two and three bedroom units, each having central heat and A/C, roll in showers (also tubs in many units for those not physically disabled) along with energy star efficient appliances and fully accessible kitchens. The exteriors of the buildings will feature sustainable construction with Hardie Board siding and Trex brand decking, as well as cultured stone veneer. Each building will be augmented with distinctive landscaping, and be painted in soft, earth like colors, giving each building their own identity. The community will also host a 5,200 square foot community center to accommodate the various community activities as well as the administration offices of the community. The entire community is being undertaken in a sustainable fashion in compliance with NJHMFA Green Homes requirements as well as compliance with Energy Star, a government backed program of international standards protecting the environment through superior energy efficiency.
